CP: Vancouver Vancouver’s Cutting Edges’ B-Team took the first game in the five game series 5-4 in overtime against the heavily favoured Violent Daisies Monday night. Shutting down the Daisies potent offence was apparently the key, as the Edges managed to learn from their mistakes and clear their defensive end. The game winner scored while shorthanded, in the first minute of overtime, was scored by returning forward, Ryan Robutka, who blocked a shot in the defensive zone and was able to take a pass from Dan DeGraff streaking up the wing.
Game two goes Thursday night at 7:30 pm, at the Richmond Ice Centre which is expected to be packed to capacity. Goalie and play-off standout, Chip Bailey has been replaced by younger back-up Anthony Kanjer, considered cuter and much easier to be around. Teammates of Bailey have filed complaints with the league regarding his demeanor, foul odor, vulgar language and sexual advances. Bailey’s spokes-model, Ms. Paris Hilton has said he intends to take a few days off, bathe and detox. Edges management were not available for comment as to Bailey’s availability for Sunday’s all-important game three.
