The dream to make their divisional finals two seasons in row failed to materialize in December for the Edges A Squad as the team failed to progress beyond the first round. Though the Edges A pushed their first game into overtime, they were unable to bring home the victory, and lost in the elimination round two games to nothing.
With the Vancouver 2010 Olympics cutting short their 2009/2010 seasons, the A Squad are looking to a spring hockey season in March and international tournaments to make up for a disappointing regular season.
“We just didn’t seem to get the bounces all season long,” said Edges Club President Ryan Robutka. “After the Olympics, we are most definitely looking to a spring league and some tournaments to redeem ourselves.”
In the meantime, A Squad members will be assisting their B Squad brothers as the Bees got a bye through the first round, and begin the second round of play-offs Saturday, January 9th.
