In another heartbreaking fashion, the Edges B Squad came up ONE GOAL short in the ongoing quest to achieve a divisional final. Though the Edges started strong, with a convincing 5-0 victory in Game One, they finished the final two games of their divisional finals one goal short in each against archrival Slant Six. Ironically, the Edges B ended the series with more goals for than their rivals, and fewer against, but in the end, the Edges B were on the outside of the finals, looking in.
“We have next year, and tournaments, but we really wanted this, to finally break that curse of finals,” said Team Captain, Simon Litherland, “we could taste it…though that may have been last night’s trick?”
Club officials could not be reached for comment as this went to publish, but rumours swirling around the Club had the Edges more determined than ever to make a comeback in 2010/2011, and talk of a spring league Edges entry has not been ruled out.
